Honeycomb Tablet Specifications
In just a few weeks, Google's Andy Rubin will give the world a sneak peek at the upcoming Motorola Honeycomb Tablet. Long in the works, the long-awaited, much anticipated tablet-optimized version of the Android 2.2 operating system, has been given the codename "Cell". This week, with a whole lot less fanfare, online images of the 12-inch black tablet pc appeared on a Motorola mobile tablet forum and it provides a very telling new detail: a logo by the carrier Verizon.
The featured pictures do not happen to offer many other well-known details, but the spec. bug does spell out specifications for the unit. This includes 32 GB of internal memory, Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 dual-core processor, the gyro sensor, a display resolution of 1280 x800 pixels, front and rear cameras (2MP/5MP) , 1-GHz processor, system, support for the MicroSD, 782 MB RAM, and wireless connectivity for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G and LTE.
It seems like it is a pretty nice setup, although minimum prices and wide-spread availability are still not known and won't be until early next year (possibly, CES 2011 will fix the situation). If the appeal of the Verizon/ Samsung Galaxy Tab is any indication, expect the public to deluge Motorola with tons of activation contracts.
